Maskelynite is found embedded as inclusions in this impactite glass from the Tenoumer Impact Crater, Mauritania, Africa. White to tan glass particles are embedded in this glassy shocked greenish-grey granitic impactite. Maskelynite does not have an orderly arrangement of atoms and therefore is considered to be more along the line of a volcanic glass.
