Composition of Trinitite
Green Trinitite is the most common form, with its color derived from arkosic sand at the Trinity test site. This sand contained angular grains of quartz, potassium feldspar, plagioclase, muscovite, calcite, pyroxene, amphibole, and rock fragments. Other associated minerals include albite, microcline, and actinolite.
Black and Red Trinitite contains iron from the bomb tower structure, with red spherules commonly found in black Trinitite. Red Trinitite may also contain copper from communication cables, lead bricks, steel tower remnants, and bomb casing materials.

All of our Trinitite was tested for authenticity and comply with Section 13 of part 40 of the NRC Nuclear Regulatory Commission rules. Our shipments meet Postal Service regulations specified in 49 CFR 173.421 for low-level radioactive materials, ensuring full compliance with U.S. Federal regulations.
