Rheniite is an exceedingly rare mineral, as there are only two known valid mineral species containing this element on our planet. It was first found in active hot fumaroles on the slopes of the Kudriavy Volcano, Kurile Islands, Russia (a remote volcanic chain of islands stretching south west from the tip of Kamchatka). It was the first accredited mineral, in 2004, to contain rhenium, with only one other mineral, tarkianite.

This rheniite mineral specimen from this classic Russian locality has a great abundance of rheniite scattered throughout, and is easily visible. It is loaded with rheniite.

This very attractive, extremely rare larger specimen arrives with the tag, acrylic tag stand, Certificate of Authenticity, and perky display case. This is among one of the most sought after rare minerals to add to a serious mineral collection.

The specimen size is: 23mm L X 20mm W X 18mm D

The rheniite is prominently visible, and extremely photogenic.

If you are looking for a low budget but very nice, premium classic specimen, from this exceedingly remote location, you have found it!

Ships in a perky display case with information and Certificate of Authenticity. Tag and tag stand are included. Acrylic square riser and photo cube not included.

XRF included!

Very rare addition to any serious collection. Buy it while you can!
