This manganese nodule is 54.1 grams and is from the Clarion-Clipperton fracture zone, located in the Pacific Ocean. This specimen has nice billowy mammatus forms on both the front and back. The bottom gives you an opportunity to see what is beneath the surface of the manganese nodule. The pictures show the front, back (with tag), and bottom.

Size: 50mm L X 47mm W X 45mm D. This polymetallic nodule ships in a protective box with a Certificate of Authenticity, tag, tag stand, XRF, and information about the specimen. Cube and plexiglass base are not included.

Rare metals and important elements have been found in manganese nodules discovered on various ocean floor systems throughout the world. The following elements have been demonstrated to be present, many of them strategic elements of industry. They include: manganese, iron, silicon, aluminum, nickel, copper, cobalt, oxygen, hydrogen, barium, potassium, titanium, rare earth, tellurium, and more. The estimated age of these nodules is approximately 2.5 million years old.

Our manganese nodules were obtained in a scientific materials trade with a major university.

A professional XRF elemental assay metallurgical laboratory printout analysis is included with this order. The XRF analysis is consistent with other manganese nodules coming from this region.

A great addition to any scientific collection!
