This halite specimen is from the Salar de Uyuni Salar, the largest salt flat in the world. The area covers almost 4,000 square miles. It is so unique to our planet that this region has become ideal for calibrating the altimeters of Earth observation satellites. When it rains the water lays so flat across this expanse that it becomes the world's largest mirror. The salt is also rich in lithium.

Size: 45mm L X 40mm W X 26mm D.

Ships with protective display case, dessicant, tag, tag stand, COA and information about the specimen.

This halite makes a very interesting geological discussion piece because of the remote location it is found.
